But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
It’s amazing the things that God lays on your heart after spending time with Him. After going through my first day of reading through 1John, I had it laid on my heart to give someone a phone call to apologize about something I felt was a bit presumptuous. I say this because a good portion of 1John talks about them importance of living in the light and in the love of God. When ever this is mentioned, only two things are made clear; we must be of God and love Him with all our hearts, and we also must love our brothers. It can not be one or the other, it must be both. If you have someone on your heart that you need to speak to, ask forgiveness from, give forgiveness to, or what have you, let me encourage to do to it now.
There was one other thing that particularly stood out to me, and is an amazing piece of scripture -
We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our hearts before Him in whatever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our heart an knows all things. 1John 3:19-20
The condemnation of your heart is of no match of the power of God. Have I messed up in the past? Absolutely. Have I done anything remotely close to be called worthy of the grace of God? Absolutely not. These thoughts and “feelings” are not of God, as you are of God though. Push past them, bask in the glory of the grace of God, and grow. John doesn’t leave it there, he continues to challenge us into growing. Be in God, as you have been called into the light.

Kristof
It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted on here, but the longer and longer I go without writing(or typing, as it would be), the longer I feel confined within myself. Earlier this week, at a group I get together with, I was challenged along side everyone else to read 1John every day for an entire month. Starting tonight I’m going to take up that challenge, and I’m going to take you, my dear tumblr, along side me in that challenge. There’s a rumble inside and around me to glorify the one who created me and to life my life as He would dictate. I pray this experience transforms me.
God Bless,
Kristof
