1John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

It’s amazing the things that God lays on your heart after spending time with Him. After going through my first day of reading through 1John, I had it laid on my heart to give someone a phone call to apologize about something I felt was a bit presumptuous. I say this because a good portion of 1John talks about them importance of living in the light and in the love of God. When ever this is...
The 1John Challenge
It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted on here, but the longer and longer I go without writing(or typing, as it would be), the longer I feel confined within myself. Earlier this week, at a group I get together with, I was challenged along side everyone else to read 1John every day for an entire month. Starting tonight I’m going to take up that challenge, and I’m going to...

Hopes and Dreams for November
It’s been a while since I’ve wrote, which was the original intention of this blog. I’ve decided that to the best of my ability, for the month of November, to write at least each and every day. A lot of this may come out in the form of poetry, some in the form of theology, and other in daily musing, but I feel one of the biggest things God has blessed me with, that I’m not...
The Man With The Iron Suitcase
I am an iron suitcase with leather locks Letting nothing in, everything is on it’s way out I am a mirror reflecting so gracefully what’s coming in But only out those who approach, all else would be a sin I strive so hard to change this world, to offer rest When instead my heart should strive to change not this world, but the next “Can you hear me, carrier of the iron...

I remember watching this episode for the first time and screaming at the TV screen. Jim’s turmoil is of such a beauty I can’t even begin to state.

Sitting in a room that’s lit just right to remind you of your childhood We listen in The sounds of rain as it drips from the cloud, down the air shaft, through the prayers of night time pleas, onto my glass window We listen in I can hear the sound of a heart beating faster and faster as it cries for encouragement it once thought was necessary, but later came to realize that pencil dreams...

Selfishness
When boiled down to their very natural fabric, sin is nothing more than a route of selfishness. Each and every move we make in an attempt against God is in an attempt for ourselves, and pushes us away threefold; God, others, and ourselves. I’m constantly being reminded of this in my daily actions, whether they are in line with God, or in line with myself. Just being reminded is not enough....
